Have you ever thought that grandmother's quilt belongs in a museum? Maybe it does. Have you ever wished that more people might benefit from the lessons to be learned from a treasured heirloom? History was not meant to be buried in a basement or hidden in an attic. The past should be shared, not hoarded away.

The majority of the Old State House Museum's most prized possessions were gifts. Even the magnificent fountain out front was not purchased with State funds. It was donated by the women of Arkansas to be the centerpiece of the Arkansas exhibit at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition.

See this page in our Collections section for more information on the sorts of things we collect. To donate an artifact, contact Joellen Maack, our Curator of Collections, at (501) 324-8637 or e-mail her at Joellen@arkansasheritage.org.
