Carden Bottoms

TL2006.003.21 Description: Base and lower portion of the body have a simple unrestricted contour. This portion ends in a sharp corner point which is the origin of the straight restricted upper portion of the vessel. This 4.2 cm high area has been incised with a pattern of ovals upon a cross-hatched background. The shell is untempered and unslipped with grey and brown coloring with areas of fire clouding. The vessel has a flattened rim. The rim is chipped and cracked with areas of restoration.

TL2006.003.142 Description: Shell tempered, orange paste, with black firing clouds. Slightly flattened base, globular body to short neck, neck contracting slightly from the body, then expands to the exterior

TL2006.003.143 Description: Globose body with a bulging neck that tapers to a smaller diameter just below a flaring rim. Curved cylindrical spout originating on the body at the margin of greatest diameter. There is a small modeled protuberance 180 degrees opposite of the origin point of the spout. The upper exterior of the vessel is slipped in red. The base is unslipped.
