Artist's Statement

Trying to Get Home: Black Folk Art as History

This online gallery contains paintings and writing of LeeNora Parlor, a black folk artist from Arkansas. It includes works in addition to those on display at the Old State House Museum through 2007 as part of the exhibit A Piece of My Soul: Quilts by Black Arkansans. Paintings in the exhibit are noted.

The availability of the paintings is given as of March 2007. The paintings in the slideshow Finale are for sale with the exception of “Oda Johnson.” Ms. Parlor is represented by Cantrell Gallery in Little Rock.
