Adult Groups
Before Your Visit: Please be certain that you have received your tour confirmation and that the information on the sheet is correct. If you do not have a confirmation form, please call the museum to confirm your reservation.
Arrival: Please check in at the Information Desk approximately 10 minutes prior to your tour time. Groups arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be guaranteed their program or tour.
Parking for Cars: Visitors who park in the parking garage beneath the DoubleTree Hotel, located just west of the Old State House Museum, will receive one free hour of parking. Don't forget to bring the ticket into the museum so it can be validated. Parking is also available on Conway Street (the one-way street running south between the DoubleTree and the museum.) Metered parking spots (by the hour or half-hour) are available on Markham and surrounding streets.
Bus Directions: Please drop passengers off in front of the building. Bus parking is available in the River Market area, approximately 6 blocks east on Markham Street. Call for more information.
Reservations: Reservations are required for all groups and must be made through the Education Department. Tours should be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. Please fill out the reservation form and submit it online to request a tour or program. The tour coordinator will contact you to discuss the tour/program options and confirmation your date and time.
Group Size: A minimum of 12 persons and a maximum of 150 persons per group per day. Groups with over 35 persons may be divided into smaller groups.
Cancellations: Please call the Education Department immediately at (501) 324-8641 if you need to cancel a tour or program so that another group may be scheduled in your place. Cancellations should be made AT LEAST ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE, except in cases of emergency.
Dining Opportunities: The Old State House Museum does not operate a food or beverage concession. Visitors are encouraged to try one of the restaurants in the blocks around the museum or in The River Market district. Food is not allowed inside the galleries of the museum.
Camera Equipment: Flash photography is permitted in some galleries inside the building. Galleries where photography is prohibited will have signs posted.
Large Items: Backpacks, briefcases, purses and bags larger than 13" by 17", and long umbrellas will not be allowed inside the exhibits. They will be kept at the Information Desk while you tour the museum.
Sketching Policy: Sketching is permitted inside the museum. Sketch pads must be 16" by 20" or smaller with pencils only.
Special Needs: Please let the Tour Coordinator know at least two weeks before your tour if you will need specialized information or assistance for anyone in your group.
