Little Rock--The traditions of joyous family holiday celebrations past can be relived at the Old State House Museum’s annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 6, 2009, from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Visitors will find the Old State House, Arkansas’s first capitol building, colorfully decorated for the season. Fun, hands-on activities will be available to children; they may create unique holiday cards and make other crafts. Delightful carols will be performed by local music groups in the museum’s 1885 House of Representatives Chamber and River Front Room. Performers include the following ensembles: UALR Classical Guitar Ensemble, Pulaski Heights Elementary Student Choir, Little Rock Suzuki Guitar Ensemble, Sweet Adelines: Top of the Rock Chorus, Arkansas Classical Mandolin, St. Edward’s Catholic Church Children’s Choir, Purpose, and others. Visitors will also enjoy delicious cookies and punch in the museum’s River Front Room.
