FIFTEEN KEYS PLAYS OLD STATE HOUSE MUSEUM

Little Rock--The Old State House Museum welcomes Fifteen Keys in concert as part of its Bands on the Bricks concert series. The concert is slated for Thursday, September 17, 2009; doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free.

The band’s three members grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas, honing their skills in the punk/bar scene of Garrison Avenue. The members cite a variety of musical influences: Uncle Tupelo, Iggy and the Stooges, Velvet Underground, Ryan Adams, Black Flag, Neil Young, Public Enemy, Herman’s Hermits, Dave Brubeck, and Thelonious Monk.

The band consists of John Rhodes (guitar, vocals), Ryan Mason (lead guitar, vocals), and Sam Trisler (harmonica, guitar, vocals). John Rhodes played in several bands in northwest Arkansas including Vern, the Mistletones, Short N Skinny, 3 to 1, Rufus Buck, and Real Good Legends. Ryan Mason is originally a trombonist with a BA in music from Hendrix. He played with the Mistletones, The Dow Ensemble, Skeletorium, Artificial Son, and Real Good Legends. Sam Trisler is a frequent contributor to the Fort Smith music scene, sitting in with such bands as The Crumbs and Mas Agua. He was also a member of The Bob Busch Package, Rufus Buck, and The Hoax Maps, and currently plays with Quartez and the Strangers.

Admission to all Bands on the Bricks concerts is free. Bands on the Bricks is held rain or shine from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month. In the case of good weather guests may bring blankets or lawn chairs and a picnic dinner. Proceeds from beverage sales go to the 1836 Club, a private non-profit friends group for the Old State House Museum.

Old State House Museum hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Guided tours are available seven days a week. Admission is free. Call the Old State House Museum at (501) 324-9685 for more information.

The Old State House Museum is a museum of the Department of Arkansas Heritage and shares the goal of all seven Department of Arkansas Heritage agencies, that of preserving and enhancing the heritage of the state of Arkansas. The agencies are Arkansas Arts Council, Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, Delta Cultural Center in Helena, Historic Arkansas Museum, Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, and the Old State House Museum.
