Danley is Wounded
Among those now working as
aides to the generals were
Arkansans Borland and
Captain C. C. Danley. After
the fall of Chapultepec,
Danley, an aide to General
John Anthony Quitman,
carried orders for Quitman’s
troops to push on to the
Belén Gate, the entrance to
Mexico City itself. After
delivering the orders
“through a galling fire,”
Danley was wounded in the
knee. |
