Exhibit Openings & Special Programs

The Old State House Museum has three galleries devoted to changing exhibits. We usually have a new exhibit opening each spring and each fall. These openings are usually accompanied by special preview receptions for the Old State House Museum Associates, our "friends" organization, and the members of our exhibit advisory committee. There is also a large public event of some sort. For the opening of Meet Me in St. Louis, our exhibit on the 1904 World's Fair, we held a fair on the lawn with food and entertainment of the period, including belly dancers. Such special programs are held throughout the run of an exhibit. For example, a series of concerts were held in conjunction with Send You Back to Arkansas: Our Own Sweet Sounds II.
