Volunteer Lounge

This room opposite Grandmother's Cottage serves as a break room for museum volunteers and staff. In 1836 it would have been an office, though we don't know for whom. After 1885 it was one of two offices assigned to the Superintendent of Schools. After a stint as the women's restroom during the Medical School era, it served as the main office of the Old State House Museum. Almost all of the museum's staff is now housed in a new building behind the Old State House.
