Make a Paper Snowflake

As the cost of paper became more reasonable midway through the 19th century, Americans took up many different pastimes involving cutting or shaping paper to create designs, pictures, ornaments, and in-laid decoration for furniture. In the late 19th century, many paper ornaments found their way onto holiday garlands, other greenery and Christmas trees through paper filigree designs, cornucopias, paper chains, trinket tubes and snowflake cut-outs.
