LUCILLE KIRTLEY LANEY
Wife of Benjamin Travis Laney, 33rd Governor (1945-1949)

Mrs. Laney wore a black Chantilly lace V-neck inaugural gown over a full length, black taffeta slip. The dress with cap sleeves, semi-fitted bodice, and full skirt came from the Gus Blass, Co. in Little Rock. An aqua grosgrain ribbon accents the dropped waistline. She wore sixteen-inch Chantilly lace mitts, a black satin evening bag and black suede slippers with the dress.
