IDA VIRGINIA YARBOROUGH HAYS
Wife of George Washington Hays, 24th Governor (1913-1917)

Mrs. Hays wore a floor-length, cream-colored crepe de chine inaugural gown. The semi-fitted bodice features a scoop neckline with shadow lace over the crepe de chine. Pearls trim the belt and kimono sleeves. The skirt has a floor-length underskirt made of silk. An overskirt trimmed in scalloped lace is wrapped over this and achieves a tubular silhouette. She wore spool-heeled, white kid shoes.
