LOUVENIA WALLACE DONAGHEY
Wife of George Washington Donaghey, 22nd governor (1909-1913)

Mrs. Donaghey wore an inaugural dress of black silk crepe. An ascot of Chantilly lace surrounds the round neckline and folds over in the front. The semi-fitted bodice is accented at the natural waistline by a sash belt tied in the back. The bishop sleeves are made of silk crepe and lace. The floor-length skirt achieves a tubular silhouette. The front of the skirt has a layered effect with a six-inch ruffle falling from the hipline; from this ruffle falls a panel of Chantilly lace that hangs five inches from the hem.
