This collection of the inaugural gowns of Arkansas governors' wives is one of the largest, most comprehensive such collections in the country. Dating back to 1889, the collection includes the original inaugural gown of nearly every Arkansas first lady since. Here you can take a slide show tour of the collection's history, which is an interesting story in its own right. You can also browse through the gowns either chronologically or alphabetically by the governors' last names. There is a biography of each first lady and a picture and description of each gown. Where they are available, we also include pictures and descriptions of any fashion accessories or family photographs.
