OSHMA offers political satire at Annual Supper

Old State House Museum - Thursday, September 29, 2016

Take a step back from the grind of this year’s political scene and join the Old State House Museum Associates (OSHMA) for a “Trumped-Up Invitation to a Hillaryous Evening” on Oct. 13.

"While the upcoming presidential election is certainly very serious, we invite you to step back and join us at the Old State House Annual Supper where you will enjoy a lighter look at politics with John Brummett and Rex Nelson in an outstanding historical setting,” OSHMA Executive Director Sammye Johnston said.

Both sides of the aisle will be represented as Arkansas Democrat-Gazette columnists John Brummett, a progressive, and Rex Nelson, a conservative, come together to provide entertaining and enlightening observations as they review political events and happenings.

The Old State House Annual Supper is hosted by OSHMA, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Old State House Museum and its programs. Funds raised by OSHMA support the programs and exhibits of the Old State House Museum, such as the School Bus Fund, Pillars of Power exhibit and the First Ladies Gown Exhibit.

The 2016 Annual Supper is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13. A reception on the lawn will begin at 6, and supper will follow in the 1885 House of Representatives chamber at 7.

Individual tickets are $100, and corporate sponsorships and tables are available. The deadline to purchase tickets is Oct. 6. For more information about the 2016 Annual Supper, please contact Johnston at 501-664-1879 or by email.
